Because of this, the Sim being checked upon may autonomously end up initiating flirty interactions with the Sim that was checking them out, usually provided they have a compatible chemistry. This may affect the feelings of not only the Sim initiating it, but the Sim being checked upon. The "Check Sim Out" interaction in The Sims 2: Nightlife can be used to rate a specific Sim for attraction. In The Sims 2 and later games, romantic socials will affect the gender preference of Sims who engage in them. In The Sims 4, romantic socials may make Sims feel Flirty. In The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval, all romantic socials will change the Short-Term Context to romantic (flirty/very alluring/extremely irresistible). As of The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories, teens through elders can use Romance socials, though some may not be available to teens. In the era of The Sims, Romance socials can only be used by adults.
